Friends of Beer Wurlitzer – Press Release

I am pleased to inform Keyboardnews.com of the formal inauguration of "Friends of BeerWurly" and the attached corporate logo, on 1st August 2008.

In effect what this means is that Cynthia Dommett is as acting secretary/treasurer and myself as acting chairman are operating as a separate entity to the Church for fundraising and organ restoration purposes, so are consequently making relevant decisions jointly.

Glen Twamley as promotional manager has recently joined us. He is already doing an excellent job producing booklets, which will be on sale at Wurlitzer concerts with promotional material, posters and flyers etc.

We are starting to form a small team which includes Brian Eady, who spent around two years installing the ex-Gaumont (Slough) Wurlitzer about three miles away from me, after it was purchased by the late Les Birch who was at the time a friend of mine.   Brian has a few "contacts" in the restoration world, who have intimated they will help out as available.

I am currently awaiting a response from HMRC regarding "charitable" status for tax purposes.

Michael Cull
